I'm A Celeb bosses furious at secret messages
'I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!' bosses are furious after discovering Mark Wright and Dougie Poynter have been sending coded messages to their friends and family back home.
'I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!' bosses are furious after discovering contestants have been secretly sending messages home to friends and family.
Mark Wright's sister Jessica - who he stars alongside in 'The Only Way Is Essex' - has revealed the 24-year-old hunk has developed a special signal to let his family know he is alright, much to the annoyance of ITV1 chiefs.
Meanwhile, McFly bassist Dougie Poynter has developed a secret code for his girlfriend Lara and producers are now worried the other contestants will follow suit, despite rules stating they can only communicate with each other in the jungle.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: "The whole point of 'I'm A Celebrity' is that contestants are cut off from the outside world in the Aussie jungle. They are banned from talking to any crew members they see and must only chat among themselves or when they are purposefully asked questions by producers.
"So bosses were absolutely livid when they heard some of the contestants were using secret codes to communicate with people back in the UK. Producers are now monitoring the situation and keeping a close eye on things and will step in if they believe it is getting out of hand."
Meanwhile, Willie Carson has been blasted by show bosses after he smuggled chilli into the jungle camp in order to spice up his bland meals.
A source said: "It shows a disregard for the rules. Extra searches were made of the contestants after what happened with Gillian McKeith last year when she smuggled in contraband in her knickers but this makes a mockery of things."
