Freddie Starr won't be returning to 'I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!'
The 68-year-old comedian - who underwent a quadruple bypass following a heart attack last year - was rushed to hospital earlier this week after suffering an extreme allergic reaction when he ate a fermented egg and a pig's anus as part of a gruesome Bushtucker Trial alongside Mark Wright.
However, in light of his recent health issues, ITV1 bosses have decided Freddie will not be making a return to the jungle.
An official statement said: "Producers of 'I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!' have decided that Freddie Starr won't return to live in the jungle.
"Freddie has been a terrific contestant. His Bushtucker Trial is one of the stand out moments in the history of the series and we wish him all the very best. "
Prior to arriving in camp a day late due to problems with his insurance papers, Freddie claimed while he wasn't "worried" about his health, he had been ruled out of taking part in certain daredevil trials in case the adrenaline set off his pre-existing heart condition.
He said: "I'm not worried, it's all fixed. They've done a good job. The operation made me not care about death because I nearly died. When you come through something like that you don't worry about little incidental things any more.
"But I'm definitely not allowed to jump out of an aeroplane because it's too much of an adrenaline rush to the heart."
