X Factor judges may switch acts
'The X Factor' bosses are planning to make the judges switch acts, in a bid to win back viewers
'The X Factor' bosses are planning to make the judges switch acts.
The twist has yet to be officially announced, but ITV bosses are reportedly keen for the show's panelists to swap the categories they mentor, in a bid to win back some of the 2.5 million viewers lost this series.
Currently Tulisa mentors the Groups; Gary Barlow the Boys; Kelly Rowland the Girls and Louis Walsh the over 25s, and a shake up could give them only one week to get to know their acts and help them choose which song to perform.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "This move will really put the cat among the pigeons as it's the last thing the judges will expect.
"It will be a major test for them as they've become too comfortable with their own acts. Producers reckon tearing up the format is just the shot in the arm the show needs."
The biggest shake up could come if bosses decide Tulisa and Kelly should swap acts, as the pair were said to be "at war" after the N-Dubz singer branded Kelly's act Misha B a "bully" live on air.
Yesterday (04.11.11) Former Destiny's Child singer Kelly said they have put aside their differences, but doesn't know if she can ever go back to being "close friends" with her co-panellist.
She told BANG Showbiz: "Tulisa and I disagreed and we will no doubt continue to disagree. Yes, we had our differences but we've put them aside for now.
"I obviously still disagree with her timing and what she said but we have to agree to disagree. We just need to focus on our own contestants."
