The Risk's Ashley quits The X Factor
Pop hopeful Ashley J Baptiste has reportedly quit 'X Factor' boy band 'The Risk' and is set to be replaced by Nu Vibe's Ashford Campbell
The Risk's Ashley J Baptiste has reportedly quit 'The X Factor'.
The singer has walked out on the boy band and the programme ahead of the live show tomorrow night (28.10.11), leaving his bandmates - Derry Mensah, Andrew Merry and Charlie Healy - in disarray.
According to reports, The Risk's mentor Tulisa Contostavlos is going to replace Ashley with Ashford Campbell from axed boy band Nu Vibe.
The 22-year-old singer is believed to have decided to walk away from 'The X Factor' because he does not want to be in a boy band long-term.
The news follows the announcement judge Kelly Rowland will not be on tomorrow night's show.
The 30-year-old star - who is mentoring the girls - has been struck down with an acute throat infection and was told by doctors she could not fly back to London after spending a few days in Los Angeles.
A spokesman for the former Destiny's Child singer said: "Kelly is devastated she won't be here for this weekend's show. She is extremely ill with a viral throat infection and her doctors aren't permitting her to fly. Kelly will be returning to the show as soon as she has recovered. The girls have been in touch to wish her speedy recovery and they can't wait for her to get back. More news as we have it."
US 'X Factor' judge Nicole Scherzinger is the favourite to take Kelly's spot on the panel alongside Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and Tulisa Contostavlos.
