Mark Wright has quit 'The Only Way Is Essex'.
The 24-year-old hunk - whose on-off romance with co-star Lauren Goodger has been a central storyline of the ITV2 show - has called time on his reality TV career after being offered a £60,000 deal to head out to the Australian jungle to take part in 'I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!'
Show chiefs are said to be hopeful Mark's womanising ways will go down well with the bevy of beauties lined up for the upcoming series, including brunette bombshell Imogen Thomas.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: "'TOWIE' will always mean a lot to him but he's become a proper celebrity since being on the show.
"No one makes any cash on 'TOWIE' and he's nearly done three series now so he's been looking for new opportunities. He wants to spread his wings and do more TV stuff."
As well as bagging a much bigger pay cheque than the £50-a-day the 'TOWIE' cast reportedly earn at present, Mark will also get a much bigger audience on the ITV1 show, with 10 million tuning in to 'I'm A Celeb' in comparison with the 1.7 million who watch the reality series.
Mark is following in the footsteps of former 'TOWIE's star Amy Childs, who quit the show this summer to appear on 'Celebrity Big Brother'.
An ITV source said: "We are currently negotiating Mark's deal and hope to have it signed soon."
