Greg Lake quits Geordie Shore
Greg Lake has reportedly quit 'Geordie Shore' after feeling the boozy antics in the MTV show weren't right for him.
Greg Lake has quit 'Geordie Shore'.
The 26-year-old hunk - who initially struggled to fit in with the burly boys also starring in the MTV reality show - has told bosses he is leaving, throwing the programme in to turmoil with filming for the upcoming second series about to start next week.
With the controversial show portraying Greg's male housemates - James Tindale, Gary Beadle and Jay Gardner - boozing, brawling and bedding a whole host of women, the reality TV star felt ultimately the programme was not the right thing for him.
An insider told the Daily Star newspaper: "Greg didn't really know how the show was going to pan out. But the longer he stayed, the more it became a boozy sex fest and that's not really his style.
"Everyone joked that because he is such a gent with the girls, he should have signed up for 'Downton Abbey'. He has told the producers that he thought it was better for him to leave."
However, MTV producers are hopeful they can work with Greg again at some point in the future.
The source explained: "There are no hard feelings. MTV still like him and hope he can work with them in the future."
'Geordie Shore' - which also stars Charlotte Crosby, Vicky Pattison, Sophie Kasaei and Holly Hagan - will hit screens again in early 2012.
