'The Only Way Is Essex' is to be screened in the US.

After the ITV2 reality show - starring the likes of Lauren Goodger, Joey Essex and Mark Wright - became a huge hit across the pond on Hulu, an on-demand service jointly owned by networks ABC, Fox and NBC, series bosses have decided to launch 'TOWIE' Stateside.

Andy Taylor, digital media director of 'TOWIE' production company All3Media, even joked the vajazzle - the decorating of a woman's intimate parts, made famous by former show star and beautician Amy Childs - could be set to become a huge hit in the US.

He said: "We wanted to use Hulu to see if US audiences had an appetite for it. In the first couple of days, the show has performed significantly above our expectations - so it looks like vajazzle sales are set to surge on the other side of the Atlantic."

Meanwhile, 'TOWIE' star Mario Falcone has issued a public apology to show newcomer Peri Sinclair following the pair's street showdown in last night's (19.10.11) episode, admitting he was "out of line" with his hurtful comments.

After the 23-year-old tailor - who is dating co-star Lucy Mecklenburgh - branded his brunette ex-girlfriend a "nobody", bubbly Gemma Collins told him to "grow up" and stop being so "disrespectful" to a woman.

Writing on his twitter page this morning (20.10.11), Mario said: "I would like to publicly apologise to @perisinclair ... I was way out of line in last nights show & shouldn't have spoken to her like that. (sic)"
