This week's 'X Factor' theme is 'Rock'.

Show bosses have made a last-minute change to the plans for Saturday's (22.10.11) live show and shelved plans for a 'Heroes' night - which would have seen the remaining 11 acts sing tracks made famous by their favourite singers - in order to bring back the popular genre.

A source told Digital Spy: "Producers wanted to spice things up a bit for viewers and they thought the return of Rock Week would provide plenty of drama. It will challenge some of the acts, who have had an easy ride so far."

Show insiders insist the sudden change is no cause for concern, but was done in order to make the competition more challenging for the contestants.

A spokesperson said: "The change of theme weeks was a production team decision to take contestants out of their comfort zone. Production regularly change themes late in the day."

Meanwhile, the performers for this week's results show have been announced.

Taking to the stage on Sunday night (23.10.11) before the remaining contestants find out who will leave the competition will be British rapper Professor Green, 'Amazing' hitmaker Bruno Mars and original 'American Idol' winner Kelly Clarkson.
