BBC One controller Danny Cohen claimed said the 23-year-old singer was the perfect choice for the new show, because she combined talent with success.
He said: "Jessie J is going to be an amazing coach on 'The Voice UK'. She's a massive young star with a strong personality, and her recent MOBO nominations are testament to her musical and creative ability."
No other judges have yet been announced for 'The Voice', although Charlotte Church and Cheryl Cole are believed to be in the running for a position on the panel.
