Enders' Syed and Christian to split?
EastEnders' Amira Shah will try to split up Syed Masood and Christian Clarke when she returns to Albert Square with Syed's baby
EastEnders' Amira Shah will try to split up Syed Masood and Christian Clarke on her return to Albert Square.
The estranged wife of Syed (Marc Elliott) fled Albert Square in April 2010 when she discovered he and Christian Clarke (John Partridge) had been having a steamy affair behind her back, but after secretly giving birth to Syed's baby Yasmin, Amira is determined to get her husband back.
Preeya Kalidas - who plays the spurned wife - said: "Amira is going to fight for the father of her child. She's determined that Syed and Christian's wedding is not going to happen.
"The only person that Amira needs in Yasmin's life is Syed - Christian has no place whatsoever. I think Syed is going to feel very torn between Christian and Amira, because she has every right to say that she doesn't want Christian to be involved with their baby.
"It's not easy for her to forgive Christian for stealing her husband - she thought he was her mate."
Preeya believes one of the reasons Amira wants Syed back is because she doesn't want to be a divorcee.
She added in an interview with Inside Soap magazine: "Being divorced is Amira's worst nightmare and she has to face it. She hasn't moved on from Syed, she's very lonely and has been the victim in all of this. So she's going to do as much as she can to get things her way."
