Doctor Who fans will get answers in 'mad' episode
'Doctor Who' showrunner Steven Moffat has promised fans they will get answers to all their questions in series finale 'The Wedding of River Song' on Saturday night (01.10.11)
Steven Moffat has promised 'Doctor Who' fans will get answers to all their questions in this week's episode of "madness".
The showrunner has left viewers scratching their heads all season trying to figure out if the Time Lord - played by Matt Smith - will really die, as was seen in the first episode of this year's series.
Steven insists the wait is now over and in 'The Wedding of River Song' on Saturday (01.10.11) every secret will be revealed - except one.
He told Total TV magazine: "Well, it's pretty much all the answers in terms of what you saw at Lake Silencio and in 'The Impossible Astronaut'. We also truly find out about River Song - who she is to the Doctor. There have been a whole lot of hints about a good man that she kills, and the reason why she's in prison. She certainly seems to behave like a lover or a wife to him, and this is where we say what that's all about. It's a big roller coaster ride of 'Doctor Who' madness in that sort of bombastic finale style. Loads of fun."
Matt has praised Steven's vision for the show this year and admits he is constantly surprised by the executive producer's "bonkers" ideas for the programme.
He told BANG Showbiz: "What grown up adult sci-fi show has someone eating fish fingers and custard? What grown up adult sci-fi show has a dude walking around in a Fez? The great thing about 'Doctor Who' is it's a family show because it does cater to all. "When people say it's too adult now it's not, so many of Steven's episodes have children in and unlike any other writer most of his ideas come from children. He just doesn't patronise children which I think is good. Who knows what he'll do with it next? He's bonkers but brilliant."
