Kelly Rowland wants her 'X Factor' stars to be "bigger than Lady Gaga".
The 'When Love Takes Over' hitmaker - who is heading up the Girls' category on the ITV1 show - explained while her fellow judge Tulisa Contostavlos is looking for the next big UK artist, Kelly is looking for someone to rival the likes of Beyonce Knowles.
She said: "All I've looked for is a global star. Me and Tulisa will differ. I heard Tulisa say, 'We're looking for that next big UK star', and I said, 'Well I'm looking for the next international star because you can't just put someone in a box, you give them everything they deserve'.
"That's what they're here for, they're here for international success. I want them to be better than me, better than Gaga and better than Beyonce. Each generation is meant to be better."
The 30-year-old singer - who is also joined on the judging panel by Gary Barlow and Louis Walsh - admitted the girls she has selected for the live finals of the show are "powerhouses" and she hopes to be involved in their future careers once the series ends.
Kelly added in an interview with the Daily Mirror newspaper: "My girls are powerhouses and I think we have people who'll give 'X Factor' a completely different feeling. This is a hard list I'm going to have to narrow down. I'm worried about telling them.
"I like developing the act, that's really cool to me. I would absolutely like to be involved afterwards."
