ITV1 shows The 'X Factor' and 'Britain's Got Talent' are to battle it out against BBC One's 'Strictly Come Dancing' at the 2012 National Television Awards in January

'Britain's Got Talent' and 'The X Factor' will be battling it out at the 2012 National Television Awards.

The singing competition will take on its fellow ITV1 programme for the coveted Best Talent Show accolade, which is dominated by dancing shows with 'Strictly Come Dancing', 'So You Think You Can Dance', 'Dancing on Ice', 'Got to Dance' and 'Let's Dance for Comic Relief' all up for gongs.

'Made in Chelsea' and 'The Only Way is Essex' will make their debuts in the Best Reality Programme category alongside the new-look Channel 5 version of 'Celebrity Big Brother', as well as the long-running 'I'm a Celebrity. Get Me Out of Here!' and 'The Apprentice'.

ITV's Jonathan Ross ('The Jonathan Ross Show') will do battle against Graham Norton ('The Graham Norton Show') - who replaced him in his former slot on BBC One - for the Best Talk Show award, but they will face stiff competition from Alan Carr ('Alan Carr: Chatty Man'), Paul O'Grady ('Paul O'Grady Live') and Piers Morgan ('Piers Morgan's Life Stories').

Meanwhile, soap favourites 'Coronation Street', 'EastEnders' and 'Emmerdale' will compete for Best Serial Drama, with actresses Katherine Kelly (Coronation Street's Becky McDonald) and Jessie Wallace ('EastEnders' beauty Kat Moon) up for the Best Serial Drama Performance.

The ceremony - which is set to be hosted by Dermot O'Leary, who has a nod for the Best Entertainment award - will take place at London's 02 Arena in January, with all the winners chosen by the public.
