TOWIE's Lydia bans Arg from TV proposal
Lydia Bright has banned boyfriend James 'Arg' Argent from popping the question on 'The Only Way Is Essex'
Lydia Bright has banned boyfriend James 'Arg' Argent from popping the question on 'The Only Way Is Essex'.
The couple - who have been dating on and off for the past three years - admit while they are keen to tie the knot in the future, they don't feel the need to rush into an engagement to prove how happy they are.
Arg said: "I've got an idea for the proposal but Lydia won't let me do it on the show. The producers will tear their hair out if we were to get engaged off-screen, but it's Lydia's wish."
Lydia added to OK! magazine: "We're still very young and in this industry some people get engaged to prove they'll stay together forever but we know we will and don't need to prove it.
"Getting married is such an amazing feeling in a girl's life! I've dreamt of a big white wedding ever since I was little. It would definitely be big but tasteful, not like a gypsy wedding."
However, life hasn't always been so happy for the couple - who split during the second series of the ITV2 show - as Lydia admitted Arg "shut her out" when he let his newfound fame go to his head.
Speaking on ITV2 special 'Reem All About It', she said: "Arg just shut me out of his life. I felt neglected and upset and he completely changed."
Arg added: "I did - but I was 21 and overweight. I'd never had any attention from girls before and I was struggling for money but suddenly I'm in a massive TV show, on good money with hundreds of girls throwing themselves at me.
"It's going to go to anyone's head."
