Tulisa Contostovlos' mum has told her to stop getting emotional over 'X Factor' contestants.
The 23-year-old star was reduced to tears on Saturday night's (17.09.11) show by aspiring singer and mother-of-four Michelle Barrett's rendition of Whitney Houston's 'All The Man I Need'.
She told the hopeful: "You remind me of my mum. It was brilliant."
Tulisa - who became a carer for her mother Ann a sufferer of schizoaffective disorder, at the age of 11 - then told her fellow judges Kelly Rowland, Louis Walsh and Gary Barlow: "Me and mum have this really powerful relationship, she's the reason I sing.
"She became unwell and spent the rest of her life singing in the kitchen."
However, the brunette beauty's mum told her to "stop crying" as soon as she saw the footage, after becoming confused with whether the show was live.
Tulisa wrote on her twitter page: "As if my mum called me 2nit going "r u ok love?stop crying!"...ITS NOT LIVE YET MUM! I'm sitting eating my dinner! Haha she cracks me up. (sic)"
Michelle went through to the Boot Camp stage of the ITV1 competition after receiving four yes votes from the judging panel."
