'X Factor' hopeful Samantha Brookes credits her lesbian lover with giving her the confidence to audition for the show.
The 31-year-old singer - who wowed judges Gary Barlow, Kelly Rowland, Tulisa Contostavlos and Louis Walsh - with her rendition of Whitney Houston's 'One Moment in Time' on Saturday night (10.09.11) - has been dating Sinead Murphy for a year and thanks her for helping her overcome her crippling nerves.
Sinead - who met Samantha while they were working for a karaoke firm - said: "I love Sami so much. She calls me her rock but she is mine. She has an amazing voice and I think she's growing in confidence by the minute. I am the only person she loves more than Louis Walsh!"
Samantha - who first auditioned for the ITV1 show three years ago but walked out because she wasn't confident enough in her ability - also revealed how she and Sinead would love to start a family together by adopting a child.
She told The Sun newspaper: "We would be great mums. I've been told I can't have children but I want to adopt. I want children more than anything. I don't really have any contact with my mum so when I have children I want to be really close to them. Sinead is my rock. She's amazing and takes everything in her stride."
