Aaron Livesy facing self-harming challenge
Danny Miller has confessed he has found shooting self-harming scenes for 'Emmerdale' very difficult and challenging.
Aaron Livesy's self-harming storyline is the "hardest challenge" Danny Miller has ever had on 'Emmerdale'.
The actor - who plays the troubled gay teen in the ITV1 soap - admitted he has found the latest episodes, where Aaron punishes himself for helping his tetraplegic boyfriend Jackson Walsh commit suicide, so difficult he called in a self-harm expert for advice.
He told Inside Soap magazine: "It's the hardest challenge 'Emmerdale' have ever given me. I've had to really think about how Aaron would be feeling at this point, hurting himself but releasing all the pressure in doing so, and actually finding the release a nice feeling.
"I've had help from an expert in self-harming who runs the website - this lady went through it herself, so she knows what she's talking about."
Danny also admitted Aaron is beyond caring what Jackson would have wanted because he is locked into a spiral of self-loathing.
He added: "I don't think he even thinks or cares about what Jackson would have wanted anymore. You can really see that the decision about Jackson dying was made too soon and Aaron can't cope, and so whether Jackson would have wanted him to react this way or not doesn't bother him in the slightest. He has so much self hatred that nobody else's opinion matters to him."
