Nancy Dell'Olio says 'Strictly Come Dancing' is going to be like a "holiday".

The Italian property lawyer - who famously dated former England football manager Sven Goran Eriksson - believes the BBC One talent show, which she is due to start training for on Monday (08.09.11), will be like "taking time off" to do something she enjoys.

She said: "It will be like having a real holiday for myself. I will be focused on something I like doing so it's going to be like taking time off for me."

The 50-year-old beauty admits it would be a "thrill" to win the competition - which features retired footballer Robbie Savage, McFly drummer Harry Judd and 'The One Show'presenter Alex Jones in the line-up - but she is more interested in "having fun" than being crowned the champion.

During an appearance on ITV1 programme 'Loose Women', she added: "I'm not doing it to win, I'm not competitive. Of course it would be exciting and a thrill to win, I would love to but it's going to be a journey, an experience I want to enjoy. It's a TV show so we're going to have fun."

Nancy does have previous dancing experience from doing some classical ballet, which will give her some "basic foundations" to take into the competition.

She said: "I've danced before, I've done some classical ballet, but I've never done any ballroom. I will have the basic foundations, but it's different from dancing on the TV with a partner."
