Rachel Shenton: Jamie Lomas made the right choice
Jamie Lomas' decision to quit 'Hollyoaks' was the right choice, according to co-star Rachel Shenton although she admitted she will miss him on set
Jamie Lomas' decision to quit 'Hollyoaks' was the right one, according to his co-star Rachel Shenton.
The 31-year-old actor - who left his role as Warren Fox in 2009 before returning just over a year later - recently announced his intention to quit the soap for a second time and although Rachel, who plays his girlfriend, will miss him on set, she thinks his departure will lead to exciting storylines for her character, glamour model Mitzee.
She said: "Of course, I'm sad that he's leaving, we've worked together for a long time now. But he's happy with the decision that he's made and it's the right one for him, so that's all that matters. I'll be gutted to see him go, as we've had a really good time.
"The mood on set is actually very, very good. There has been a lot of changes, but I think naturally everyone's in good spirits at the moment. We're all looking forward to the future."
Asked if Warren's departure will lead to a new chapter for Mitzee, Rachel told Digital Spy: "Yes, and it's really exciting - there's been a few talks about what's going to happen and what direction the character's going to go in. It's all very positive and I'm looking forward to it."
