Robbie Savage joins Strictly Come Dancing line-up
Retired footballer Robbie Savage has joined the line-up of this year's 'Strictly Come Dancing'
Robbie Savage has signed up to 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The retired football player will compete on the BBC One ballroom dancing show for a reputed £50,000, after taking a few weeks to make his mind up.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Robbie will be great. He has a lot of energy and doesn't hold back when anyone gives him criticism. He had to think twice about doing it as the idea of prancing about in sequined tops and doing the splits is at odds with his macho image."
Robbie, 36, retired at the end of the last football season, during his career he played for Derby County, Leicester City, Blackburn Rovers and Birmingham City and represented his country Wales. He is now working as a presenter on Radio Five Live.
Among the other celebrities competing on 'Strictly Come Dancing' this year are Jason Donovan, Lulu, former 'Neighbours' actress Holly Valance, flop heavyweight boxer Audley Harrison, McFly star Harry Judd and ex-politician Edwina Currie.
The new series - which is judged by Len Goodman, Craig Revel Horwood, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli - starts this Saturday (10.09.11).
