Jennifer Metcalfe put off kids by Hollyoaks
'Hollyoaks' actress Jennifer Metcalfe has admitted the prosthetic stomach she has to wear for her pregnancy storyline is so uncomfortable she doesn't plan on having kids for quite some time.
Jennifer Metcalfe has been put off having kids after playing a pregnant character on 'Hollyoaks'.
The 27-year-old actress - who portrays feisty Mercedes Fisher in the Channel 4 soap - wants to have children in the future, but admitted the prosthetic stomach she has to wear for her latest storyline is so "hot and uncomfortable" she doesn't plan on getting pregnant for quite some time.
She said: "I would like to have children one day but wearing a prosthetic stomach hasn't made me feel broody because it's so hot and uncomfortable. I'm really happy with what I am doing with my life at the moment.
"When I was 19 I used to imagine that I'd be married at 24, with a couple of kids at 27, but I'm still here. I'm not ready to settle down just yet."
Although the brunette beauty's character is planning a flashy wedding to aspiring footballer fiance Riley Costello (Rob Norbury), Jennifer - who is currently dating her 'Dancing On Ice' partner Sylvain Longchambon - doesn't think she would want such lavish nuptials herself.
She added to Soaplife magazine: "When the time comes it will depend on who I'm with. I think you have to do something that suits you both. I'm not like Mercy and I wouldn't want anything too big and glitzy."
