Jake Wood wants Max and Tanya reunion
'EastEnders' actor Jake Wood is keen for his alter-ego Max Branning to settle down with his ex-wife Tanya Jessop
EastEnders' Jake Wood hopes his character Max Branning eventually settles down with ex-wife Tanya Jessop.
The actor admitted he would love it if the couple could put their troubled past behind them, and he believes Tanya - portrayed by Jo Joyner - being diagnosed with cervical cancer could bring them closer together.
He told Inside Soap magazine: "Max has lost Tanya many times but there has always been that glimmer of hope that they can get things back on track. But knowing that she could lose her fight for life if the cancer gets worse will be the most terrible news Max could imagine. He'll be desperate to be the person she can turn to.
"I hope Max will settle down with Tanya and have a happy, rosy future. I think he deserves to have his family around him and be a good father. And why not? But he'd have to change his ways."
There could be hope for Max as although mother-of-three Tanya is currently married to second husband Greg Jessop (Stefan Booth), she has been cheating on him with her former spouse.
Jo recently revealed: "Eventually, Tanya goes to see Max at the car lot and tells him that she loves him. She says, 'I'm not the other woman, I'm the only woman'."
