Lauren Goodger: Mark told me to lose weight
The Only Way Is Essex's Mark Wright often told now ex-fiancee Lauren Goodger to lose weight because he thought it would make the pair more famous
Mark Wright was convinced he and Lauren Goodger would be "bigger" if she lost weight.
The 'Only Way is Essex' star regularly told his 24-year-old fiancee - who he has been dating on and off for 10 years - she was larger than she should be and that she should cut down on calorific treats to make the couple more successful
Speaking before the couple broke up late last week, Lauren said: "He makes me feel like I should be obsessed, so that's double the pressure.
"He tells me we'll be a bigger couple because people like to see good-looking slim people. The other day I said, 'Look, my hips are big,' and he was like, 'Yeah they do. That's because your hips are big at the moment. '
"He wants us to train together and get fit for the show. But I couldn't survive on a bowl of lettuce. We both love our food."
Lauren - who has been spotted at a number of gruelling boot camps in the hope of shaping up ahead of the upcoming third series of the ITV2 show - also claimed she would feel more "confident" if she lost the weight.
She added to heat magazine: "I need to lose weight for me because I think the more confident I am in myself, the more confident I'll be in the relationship and then I'll have more control. I don't like looking frumpy."
