Dermot O'Leary thinks 'X Factor' wannabe Kitty Brucknell is "extraordinary".
The 38-year-old presenter - who is fronting the ITV1 show for his fifth series - explained while the eccentric hopeful can "really sing" he thinks her controversial antics, which included sitting on the edge of the stage to listen to the judges' verdict, could make her this year's answer to Katie Waissel.
He told BANG Showbiz: "Kitty is an extraordinary human being. I think they're in the right ball park with Katie Waissel and her critique!
"She really can sing. Maybe she's a bit of a shouter, but people like that."
Meanwhile, Dermot admitted while he was initially "nervous" about how new 'X Factor' judges Tulisa Contostavlos, Gary Barlow and Kelly Rowland would go down with the British public, he is thrilled with the positive response and thinks original panellist Louis Walsh is particularly impressive this year.
Speaking at the UK premiere of 'One Day' at the Vue at London's Westfield, he added: "We were a little bit nervous but we knew we had something there. I don't think there's anything lacking, it's just different than it was before.
"Who's been the best? Louis, actually. Louis is a man re-born!"
