Eat, sleep, breathe: The Moth & The Mirror

Stacey Sievwright from Glasgow band on food and drink preferences

What time is breakfast?
I don’t do breakfast. I do brunch. It’s my favourite meal and I would happily eat it all day, usually sometime after midday though.

Tea or coffee?
Earl Grey.

Smoking or non-smoking?
Sometimes I’ll sneak a wee rolly but I don’t have the stomach to be a proper smoker.

Sweet or savoury snacks?
I have a sweet tooth.

What food do you miss when you tour?
Depends where you are. Sometimes everything is better on the road. I’m a veggie. So in Europe I miss all food! Sometimes all there is to eat is bread and cheese.

Who’s the best cook you know?
I have a friend who’s a Michelin star chef. He’s only ever made me a cup of tea though.

What’s on your rider?
Wine, beer; cheese and biscuits, fruit. And a puppy.

Which country/ city has the best food?
I’m gonna have to go for New York. You can pretty much get any thing you want at any time of the day, even veggie stuff.

Do you eat out a lot?
I am a food junkie and am attempting to kick my restaurant habit – it’s making me so poor! Touring gives you bad habits.

Do you eat or drink onstage?
I do like to have a little tipple on stage. I can’t see me having any snacks though.

The Moth & The Mirror’s new single, ‘Germany’ is out on Mon 5 Sep (Olive Grove Records); and there’s a single launch, Captain’s Rest, Glasgow, Fri 2 Sep. The song ‘Lights in the Sky’ can be downloaded for free at
