'The X Factor' contestant Kitty Brucknell is worried she is ''useless'', and that the judges didn't like her performance.

'The X Factor' contestant Kitty Brucknell is worried she is "useless".

Viewers saw the singer put through to the show's Boot Camp stage last night (20.08.11) after a rendition of Lady Gaga's 'The Edge of Glory', but the pressure of appearing on the programme appears to have left her in a fragile state of mind.

After her initial audition, she told The People newspaper: "No one likes me here, I'm useless. There is no place for me in this competition – you should see what they are saying about me."

Another source said Kitty – real name Kimberley Edwards - was left sobbing at the hotel where contestants stay, and worried judges Louis Walsh, Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos and Kelly Rowland didn't like her performance.

According to the Daily Mirror newspaper Kitty said: "I want to jump off a cliff, I can't carry on.

"This is the worst day of my life. The public are going to hate me. The judges just don't get me."

During her audition at London's The O2 venue, the singer had claimed to have invented her own "brand".

She said: "I know I can sing. I've invented my own brand - it's diva glam pop."

After her a cappella version of 'The Edge of Glory', head judge Gary praised her, saying: "That was a great audition. You give us the hard, the soft, the medium.

"You're full of body, you filled the whole of the O2. The audience loved it."

A spokesperson for the show said they will keep a close eye on Kitty and that "the contestants' welfare is paramount."
