Gary Barlow arguing with Louis
Gary Barlow and Louis Walsh have fallen out over which 'X Factor' contestants should go to Boot Camp, with Gary keen to only champion credible singers.
Gary Barlow and Louis Walsh have fallen out over which 'X Factor' contestants should go to Boot Camp.
Head judge Gary feels the show has too many novelty acts, and reportedly blames his fellow panellist for trying to admit them to the show's second round over people with real talent.
The pair fell out on Thursday (18.08.11) over Chinese singer Goldie Cheung, who gave Gary a lap dance and chased him during auditions for the competition.
Gary told The Sun newspaper: "The TV companies are always going to push for the ridiculous acts to get through, but I'm hoping we can resist so many this year.
"I know it's Saturday night entertainment and people want something to love and to hate and to laugh at. We'll see if it's possible [to axe the oddballs]. I'll let you know."
Despite not being a big fan of Goldie's singing, Gary did, however, admit he enjoyed her performance.
He said: "Even though I hope she doesn't get through, she has entertained me all the way through. I sit there and think, 'I'm enjoying this - but I shouldn't be!'"
Although he wants to be seen as firm on the show, Gary is wary of following former head judge Simon Cowell with having a reputation for being harsh on people.
He said: "A lot of these people are not ready. You have to be honest. I hope I'm Mr Honest. I'm serious about music."
