Craig Revel Horwood wants Gino for Strictly
Craig Revel Horwood wants TV chef Gino D'Acampo to be a contestant on 'Strictly Come Dancing' when it returns to BBC One later this year
Craig Revel Horwood wants Gino D'Acampo to be a contestant on this year's 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The judge of the BBC One talent show issued a plea to the Italian chef to compete in the ballroom competition during an appearance on his daytime cookery show 'Let's Do Lunch With Gino & Mel', and the exuberant cook is interested in hitting the dancefloor.
Craig told him: "I want you to come on Gino, I've been begging for it,"
To which Gino replied, "I would like to do it because I've always wanted to learn how to dance, and I've never done it. But Am I not too short to dance?"
Craig replied: "No darling, no."
The famously acid-tongued judge also revealed a couple of celebrities who are in the running to be contestants when the show returns in the autumn.
He told host Melanie Sykes: "I heard a rumour that Jason Donovan might be doing it, but nothing has been announced obviously, and I heard that Edwina Currie might be coming on. But I made lots of predictions last year and none of them came true.
"It's great to have people like that on, the judges love it they love it and the audience loves it. I mean look at Anne Widdecombe last year, it was just pure comedy."
