Louis Walsh: Gary Barlow stole my head judge job
Louis Walsh - the only remaining original 'X Factor' judge - claims Gary Barlow ''stole'' his position on the panel.
Louis Walsh claims Gary Barlow "stole" his position as head judge on 'The X Factor'.
As the only remaining original member of the panel, the Irishman had expected to take over from Simon Cowell as boss, but the Take That star soon quashed his hopes of seniority over himself and other new judges Kelly Rowland and Tulisa Contostavlos.
Louis said: "After eight years on the show and being the only surviving original judge I was expecting to be head judge this year. But on day one Gary stole my head judge mug and sat in Simon's old seat."
However, Louis hasn't given up hope of eventually taking on the head judge role.
He added: "There's always next year I suppose,"
Meanwhile, Gary believes he, Kelly and Tulisa were the perfect choices to replace Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue because they are so "valid" and current.
He said: "I suppose in terms of who they could have picked to be new judges alongside Louis, there's no-one more valid than me, Kelly and Tulisa because we're out there doing it right now. We're selling tickets, selling records, and we're out there doing what these guys want to be doing."
While the 'Patience' hitmaker has been dubbed the "nasty" judge following his harsh audition comments, Gary insists he just wants to help people.
He said: "I just want to be here to help people and I want them to be able to look up to me and be able to say to me, 'tell me, do I do this or this?'
"If I've disliked a performance, I've told them that I didn't really enjoy it very much. We have to be real with them."
