Sid Owen clinches last-minute CBB deal
'EastEnders' star Sid Owen has clinched a last minute deal to appear on 'Celebrity Big Brother'
Sid Owen has signed up to appear on 'Celebrity Big Brother'.
The 39-year-old actor - best known for playing dopey Ricky Butcher in 'EastEnders' - has clinched a last-minute deal to join the Channel 5 programme ahead of its launch next week.
However, Sid - who came third in the 2005 series of 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' - will face a tough challenge in resisting fellow housemates Amy Childs, Tara Reid and Pamela Anderson as he is engaged to 26-year-old Polly Parsons.
A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "Poor Sid. It's every man's dream to be surrounded by such beauties, but he's going to have to keep his hands off them.
"It will make 'I'm A Celebrity...' seem like a walk in the park."
Other celebrities linked with the programme include Jedward, Kerry Katona and her mother Sue, troubled singer Bobby Brown and 'Big Fat Gypsy Weddings' star Paddy Doherty, but show bosses are refusing to confirm anyone.
A Channel 5 spokesperson said: "'Big Brother' execs are in talks with a number of celebrities about appearing on the Channel 5 series but we're not confirming any names at the moment."
