Michelle Keegan: Jack P Shepherd is my comfort blanket
Michelle Keegan thinks Jack P Shepherd is her ''comfort blanket'', and she is keen for the pair's alter-egos to rekindle their on-screen romance
Michelle Keegan thinks Jack P Shepherd is her "comfort blanket".
The 'Coronation Street' actress - who plays brunette bombshell Tina McIntyre in the ITV1 soap - explained she is keen for her alter-ego to rekindle her romance with Jack's bad boy character David Platt because working alongside him and his on-screen mum Helen Worth "feels like home".
She explained: "I really want Tina and David to get back together again. I absolutely love working with Jack and I think the two of them are quite similar. They were very grounded as a couple - just normal.
"And when I work with Jack and Helen Worth, I feel like I'm home again. It's a little bit like having a comfort blanket. The writers always loved writing for Tina and David, so who knows?"
Meanwhile, Michelle's feisty alter-ego is to be pursued by hunky new doctor on the cobbles Dr. Matt Carter (Oliver Mellor), but the 24-year-old star thinks it would end up being a "Bridget Jones-type situation" if the pair got together.
She added to Inside Soap magazine: "I think Matt's too much of a gentleman for Tina. It would be a Bridget Jones-type situation, where she wouldn't think she could ever fit into his life, but he'd want her to fit into it.
"Tina has a tough decision to make!"
