Arg: TOWIE doesn't need Amy Childs
James 'Arg' Argent thinks 'The Only Way Is Essex' will ''definitely'' work without Amy Childs, who quit the ITV2 show last week
James 'Arg' Argent thinks 'The Only Way Is Essex' will "definitely" work without Amy Childs.
The 23-year-old reality TV star explained the redhead beauty - who allegedly quit the ITV2 series to appear on 'Celebrity Big Brother' - has "different aspirations" to the rest of the cast, and wants to follow in the footsteps of former glamour model Katie Price.
He said: "'The Only Way Is Essex' will definitely work without Amy. In series two she was only in it now and then and series two was just as big as series one, if not bigger.
"Obviously Amy will be missed but I think from how series two was received it proves the show is more than capable of doing well and carrying on without her being there.
"I think Amy aspires to be someone like a Kerry Katona or a Jordan whereas the other cast members like myself and Lydia Bright have different aspirations. The benefits and money you earn on the back of the show outweigh what you'd get if you were paid for something else."
Meanwhile, the tubby TV star - who recently reunited with his on-off girlfriend of three years, fellow cast member Lydia Bright - explained the attention he got from appearing in 'The Only Way Is Essex' initially "went to his head", but he and the blonde beauty are now "better than ever".
Arg added to The Sun newspaper: "We're better than ever. We realised we weren't interested in dating other people. We had problems that we addressed.
"Before the show I never had much attention from girls. Then people started throwing themselves at me. Like any 23-year-old boy who is a bit overweight and who never had attention before, it went to my head a little bit and that was a big problem."
