'Inbetweeners' star James Buckley has blasted the E4 comedy and upcoming movie as "s**t".
The 23-year-old actor - who plays sex-mad teen Jay Cartwright in the show - thinks he and fellow stars Simon Bird, Blake Harrison and Joe Thomas have been "lucky" to achieve storming success by appearing in the series, and he doesn't even rate the new film.
Set in the party destination of Malia, Crete, the movie - which is due for release next week - will see the hapless foursome go on their first overseas holiday without their parents.
However, speaking on Alan Carr's 'Chatty Man' talk show, James said: "I think we have rode our luck out. It's just a silly little programme, isn't it? It's a laugh. It's just s**t, isn't it?"
Despite James' comments, co-star Simon Bird - who portrays nerdy Will McKenzie in the E4 show - recently admitted filming the movie was an "emotional" experience because it's likely to be the last venture in the 'Inbetweeners' franchise.
He said: "The last week of filming was quite emotional because we spent so much time together over the last three years. Knowing it's coming to an end is horrible, really."
