Karen Gillan thinks her sizzling chemistry with co-star Matt Smith is ''the heart'' of 'Doctor Who'
Karen Gillan thinks her chemistry with Matt Smith is "the heart" of 'Doctor Who'.
The 23-year-old beauty - who plays the Time Lord's companion Amy Pond in the BBC One sci-fi drama - looked to former 'Doctor Who' actress Billie Piper for inspiration on how to master sizzling on-screen chemistry with her co-star.
She explained: "I remember watching Billie Piper play Rose, and she's my favourite companion because I thought she was really brilliant with Chris Eccleston, and the chemistry she had with David Tennant was brilliant.
"It just made me realise how important it is in the show that the chemistry between the Doctor and companion is at the heart of the show."
However, it might not be an easy ride for Amy and the Doctor, as Karen revealed the "whole dynamic" of the pair's relationship is set to change over the course of the coming series after it was revealed River Song (Alex Kingston) was her alter-ego's future daughter at the end of last season.
She added to Collider.com: "It's going to take some twists and turns, and all relationships and the whole dynamic is going to change, after the big revelation at the end of the last half of the series.
"I had some fun with Alex Kingston, with that."
