Brooke Kinsella is to take part in '71 Degrees North'.
The former 'EastEnders' actress - who has been an active campaigner against knife crime since her 16-year-old brother Ben was stabbed to death three years ago - is to tackle the gruelling endurance show, which sees a group of celebrities given a series of challenges as they travel to the Arctic Circle.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Brooke's a fighter and giving up isn't in her nature. She could win."
In March, it was reported that former footballer John Barnes had been drafted into the show as a last-minute replacement for Martin Kemp, after the musician suffered a back injury.
A source said at the time: "Being in South Africa did not put him off. He just said, 'When do you need me?', and the reply was 'now'.
"He jumped on the next flight and landed in Norway this week. Martin had totally crocked himself and was ruled out by the medics. He did something to his back and was crying out in pain. The producers were panicking as they are in the middle of filming."
Other celebrities taking part in the show - which will be hosted by 'Take Me Out' host Paddy McGuinness and sports anchorwoman Charlotte Jackson - include TV gardener Charlie Dimmock, presenters Rav Wilding and Angelica Bell and celebrity hairdresser Nicky Clarke.
