Michelle Keegan wants her 'Coronation Street' alter-ego Tina McIntyre to enjoy the single life for a while
Michelle Keegan wants her 'Coronation Street' alter-ego to be single.
The 24-year-old actress - who plays brunette bombshell Tina McIntyre in the ITV1 soap - wishes her character wasn't such a serial monogamist, as she already has hunky new doctor Matt Carter (Oliver Mellor) lined up to ease her heartache over ex-boyfriend Graeme Proctor (Craig Gazey).
She said: "I wish they would leave Tina single for a while. I think she needs a bit of time without a boyfriend, but that's not what's happening, as she's got a new fella on the way.
"She always goes from one to the other. I'm hoping that soon Tina gets some time without a man and carries on being food mates with Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson), as I love Tina and Steve's scenes together."
However, Michelle - who recently got engaged to The Wanted singer Max George - admitted she is always relaxed about who her mouthy alter-ego hooks up with as her real-life boyfriend doesn't get jealous of her on-screen relationships.
She added: "I never think about who could be my next screen boyfriend. It doesn't bother me if it's someone hot or not - or Max, because he's not the jealous type, thank God!"
