Coronation Street's Tyrone Dobbs and Kirk Sutherland will cause chaos when they kidnap a drug dealer.
The dopey duo - played by Alan Halsall and Andy Whyment - will be attempting to come to the rescue of pal Fiz Stape (Jennie McAlpine) after she becomes embroiled with a terrifying gang of criminals, who threaten the life of her baby daughter Hope.
Determined to help, the hapless pair set out on a mission to talk to gang leader Leon and convince him to leave the troubled new mum alone.
A 'Coronation Street insider said: "They would make ridiculous gangsters."
However, when the unlikely detectives spot him dealing drugs from his car they decide to take photographic evidence to use as leverage against him.
Quickly spotted by eagle-eyed Leon, a dramatic scuffle with a baseball bat ensues and Tyrone and Kirk end up knocking out the criminal and kidnapping him.
The source added to the Daily Star newspaper: "Naturally he's spitting blood with rage when he comes round and realises what they have done. They know they are out of their depth but they've got no idea what to do now."
With the rest of Leon's gang frantically searching for their leader, it would appear the pair have just made things worse for their pal Fiz.
The insider continued: "It's not a bright move as Leon's gang members start hunting for him and the criminal vows to get his revenge on the lads. Instead of helping Fiz, they've made things 10 times worse."
