Shayne Ward is delighted his former 'X Factor' mentor Louis Walsh has retained his place on the judging panel of the show despite the recent changes
Shayne Ward is happy his former 'X Factor' mentor Louis Walsh is still on the judging panel of the show.
The singer - who won the TV talent show in 2005 - is thrilled that the Irishman has stayed on the programme, despite Cheryl Cole, Dannii Minogue and Simon Cowell departing to make way for Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos and Kelly Rowland.
He said: "Louis is such a massive part of the show, so it is nice to see he is the one remaining judge on the show, it brings like the history to show, it would be really sad to see him go."
Following his win on 'The X Factor', Shayne signed a record deal with Simon's SyCo label but recently left the company.
The 'That's My Goal' hitmaker insists he wasn't dropped but his departure was a "mutual" decision, based on the fact he wasn't getting the attention that he needed.
He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I'm not with SyCo anymore, we worked together for six years, it was a mutual thing".
They are totally TV based, you know with all the shows they do and everything, and I was tied with other commitments and contracts, so I wasn't getting the right attention and focus I needed."
Shayne is currently rehearsing for the lead role in London West End musical 'Rock of Ages', which opens at the Shaftesbury Theatre in September.
'Must Be A Reason Why' by J Pearl featuring Shayne Ward is released on October 10.
