Rhys Ashworth fears for Jacqui
'Hollyoaks' character Jacqui Ashworth is set to go missing, and husband Rhys Ashworth fears she has been murdered by the village's serial killer
'Hollyoaks' hunk Rhys Ashworth fears wife Jacqui has been murdered when she disappears after a row.
The barman, who is played by Andrew Moss, is left frantic when the brunette beauty (Claire Cooper) goes missing after he turns down her advances and suggests she goes to stay with her mum Myra McQueen (Nicole Barber-Lane) - only to discover she hasn't turned up, leading to him convinced she has fallen victim to the serial killer currently on the loose.
Andrew explained: "Rhys bumps into Myra the next day and realises that she's not seen Jacqui.
"He's worried. If she's not at her mum's, where is she? And with posters going up appealing for information about the serial killer, Rhys fears the worst."
Rhys' concerns are increased when a search in nearby woods uncovers a piece of clothing belonging to Jacqui - who accused her new husband's best friend Gilly Roach of raping her earlier this year - and the bolshy barmaid's loved ones are quick to turn on her spouse.
Andrew told Inside Soap magazine: "Things can't get any worse for Rhys. He blames himself for Jacqui's disappearance - and everyone else blames him, too.
"Rhys should have been looking after Jacqui, but she wouldn't talk to him, wouldn't touch him and wouldn't seek help. There's only so much he can take - Rhys is at breaking point."
