Six 'The Only Way Is Essex' stars are facing the axe as only original cast members are guaranteed spots in the third series of the ITV2 show
Six 'The Only Way Is Essex' stars are facing the axe.
Producers of the ITV2 show want fresh faces for the third series of the reality programme and are only guaranteeing original stars a place, meaning the likes of Maria Fowler, Lauren Pope, Joey Essex, Chloe Sims, Gemma Collins and Mick Norcross may not return.
Sam Faiers - who appeared in both series and is dating club promoter Essex - said: "It's really sad but they have said they won't be signing up all the people who were in the second series again.
"I hope Joey stays. But he would be OK off the series anyway."
Sam also thinks car saleswoman Gemma won't return to the show even if she is invited, because she was so humiliated in the last series when nightclub owner Mick snubbed her in favour of single mum Chloe.
The blonde beauty revealed to The Sun newspaper: "Gemma was so humiliated on the last show I don't know if she even wants to come back. We've all been trying to call her and text her but it is as if she's gone into hiding."
Lime Pictures - who make the show - are currently advertising for new faces for the third series, which is set to begin in the autumn.
