The 20-year-old star - who shot to fame on the ITV2 reality show - is keen for the Essex-born comedian and his wife Katy Perry to feature in the upcoming third series of the programme, as they are both huge 'TOWIE' fans.

Lydia exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I think it would be quite funny if Russell Brand made a cameo appearance in the show because he's obviously an Essex boy as well - it would be a right laugh. He's be absolutely hilarious.

"You never know, he could get Katy Perry involved as well. She's a really big fan of 'The Only Way Is Essex'. When she did her tour she said on stage, 'Does anybody watch 'The Only Way Is Essex'? I love it'."

Lydia also revealed the third series of 'The Only Way Is Essex' will see her mum, Debbie Bright, return to screens.

She added: "My mum absolutely loves being in it and it's unbelievable for her. When she's walking down the street everyone is shouting out, 'Look it's Lydia's mum'. So she's definitely going to be getting involved in the third series."

However, viewers are likely to be seeing less of Lydia and ex-boyfriend James 'Arg' Argent together, as she thinks their relationship brought her "hurt and upset".

Lydia said: "We're just friends at the moment. I was going through quite a lot of hurt and upset and I just kind of thought I'd be best off by myself.

"I've got so many exciting things in my life and I felt the relationship with Arg was bringing me down. I just need to be by myself for a while."
