Michelle Keegan's 'obvious' engagement
Michelle Keegan's fiance Max George popped the question after seven months because it felt like the ''obvious and right thing to do''
Michelle Keegan's fiance Max George proposed after seven months because he "just knew" she was the one for him.
The Wanted hunk - who popped the question with a £10,000 sparkler and a Chihuahua earlier this month - is besotted with the 'Coronation Street' star but admitted the pair have no plans to tie the knot just yet.
He said: "I hadn't been building up to it for too long. I just knew that I wanted to be with this woman forever.
"It felt like the obvious and right thing to do. And she said yes straight away, so I'm delighted. If she'd said no, that would be grim. I don't know what I'd have done.
"We haven't rushed in. Even though we're engaged we're not going to go and get married next week, it's a sign of our commitment.
"I don't think I'm too young. I think you just know when it's right and it definitely was right."
Although Max, 22, and 24-year-old Michelle - who plays brunette bombshell Tina McIntyre in the ITV1 soap - are busy juggling their respective careers, Max insists they always make time for each other.
He explained to the News of the World: "If I'm finished in London in the evening I'll jump on a train to Manchester to be with her for the night and then I'll come back the next morning.
"And Michelle comes to me if she's not filming. It's not that hard."
