Anita Dobson to appear in Strictly Come Dancing?
'EastEnders' legend Anita Dobson is in talks to take part in this year's 'Strictly Come Dancing'
Anita Dobson is set to take part in this year's 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The 'EastEnders' legend - who played feisty former Queen Vic landlady Angie Watts - is in talks with producers to star in the BBC One reality show, with bosses hoping she'll take up the role of the sexy older lady previously filled by the likes of Felicity Kendall and Pamela Stephenson.
A source said: "The producers are really keen on her. They think she would be great."
However, friends of 62-year-old Anita - who is married to Queen rocker Brian May - say she is weighing up the lucrative offer because she has concerns over the heavy workload the show demands.
One told The Sun newspaper: "'Strictly' is a lot of hard work. Anita's undecided."
While Anita is currently undecided as to whether to take part, footballer Robbie Savage is said to have already signed up and is determined to become a success on the dancefloor.
An insider said: "He wants to be the first footballer to win 'Strictly' and nothing is going to stop him. Robbie is exactly what we want for 'Strictly' - someone who will make waves.
"Every football fan in the country is going to want to see how ridiculous he looks wearing tight lycra and sequined outfits."
Chris Tarrant and Fern Britton are other names who have been rumoured for the new series, which will begin later this year.
