Claire Richards has signed up to appear in a reality diet series.
The 'Popstar to Operastar' contestant - whose weight has fluctuated between a size 10 and size 16 in recent years - has agreed to let a camera crew follow her for a year to monitor the effect her continual yo-yo dieting is having on her body.
Sky Living's 'Claire Richards: Slave To Food' will also help the 33-year-old star overcome her self-confessed "addiction" to calorific treats.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: "Claire has admitted it's her addiction to food that's the problem. Like many people in Britain, she just has these episodes where she stuffs herself. It feels like it's uncontrollable and has had a real effect on her self-esteem.
"She will look at what effect her yo-yo dieting is having on her body. It won't just be about getting slim - although obviously that's something she'd love to do."
Claire - who has two children, Charlie, four, and Daisy, 18 months, with husband Reece Hill - recently admitted keeping trim is like a "full-time job".
She said: "For me, staying thin is like a full-time job, and I'd rather spend that time looking after my kids and focusing on my career.'
"There's always been a part of me that feels food is my addiction. I've never smoked or taken drugs, but in the past eating has been a compulsion."
