'Britain's Got Talent' star Ronan Parke is to duet with Jackie Evancho.

The 12-year-old singing sensation - who placed second behind Jai McDowall in this year's competition - met the 11-year-old 'America's Got Talent' star during Saturday's (04.06.11) final and they are now planning to record together.

According to the Daily Star newspaper, show chief Simon Cowell has paired them up as he thinks they "look great together".

While Ronan came second in the contest, he is not letting that put him off his dreams of musical success after being inspired by former 'BGT' runner-up Susan Boyle and 'Beat Again' hitmakers JLS, who have forged a chart career despite being beaten by Alexandra Burke in 2008's 'X Factor' final.

He told BBC Radio Norfolk: "Susan Boyle and JLS came second and they've made a big career out of this and hopefully I can too."

If the proposed duet between the two young singers goes ahead, it won't be the first time the US star has performed with a 'Britain's Got Talent' finalist.

Jackie - who came second in the fifth season of 'America's Got Talent' - was joined on 'A Mother's Prayer' on her debut album 'Dream With Me' by Scottish singing sensation Susan Boyle.

Susan said: "She has so much talent for someone so young and I wish her a long and successful career, she certainly deserves it."

Has Simon lost his mind? Is he going to force Jackie to perform in a style she doesn't want to sing publicly? Of course she can sing pop, anyone with a classically trained voice can, but she has said she doesn't want to sing pop. Now Ronan may fool me and have a beautifully trained classical voice that he's hiding when he sings, but i kinda doubt it, and if not, he is going to sound bad compared to her beautiful sound. Maybe they could pull of some sort of 'beauty and the beast' arrangement, but I kinda doubt that too. I hope Simon thinks this through, or Mike Evancho steps in to put a stop to this.
