Ronan Parke to sign 1m contract
'Britain's Got Talent' runner-up Ronan Parke is set to sign a £1 million recording contract, as music bosses hope the child singing sensation will become Britain's answer to Justin Bieber.
'Britain's Got Talent' runner-up Ronan Parke is set to sign a £1 million recording contract.
The 12-year-old singing sensation - who came second behind Jai McDowall in the ITV1 show's final on Saturday night (04.06.11), despite being the bookies' favourite - will reportedly be offered a lucrative contract by Sony Music in the hope he will become Britain's answer to Justin Bieber.
However, the label is keen to keep news of the deal quiet for a while because of the controversy caused by allegations the show's boss Simon Cowell "planted" the youngster on the show and had signed him up when he was just 10.
An insider told the Daily Mail newspaper: "I think Ronan will get a deal. He is very talented. But everyone is feeling quite sensitive about these ridiculous claims that it was all set up from the start. It has to be handled carefully."
Following the allegations, it was revealed Ronan was actually discovered on YouTube, which led to him having the confidence to enter 'Britain's Got Talent'.
He recently explained: "I decided to give it a go, but I never expected a standing ovation.
"I was really overwhelmed when my name was called out. I cried again - I really need to stop doing that! The standard is so high. I really don't think I'm going to win. I'm trying not to think it, as I don't want to get my hopes up."
