Becky McDonald 'a woman possessed'
Katherine Kelly says her 'Coronation Street' alter-ego Becky McDonald is like a ''woman possessed'' when she confronts love rival Tracy Barlow after learning social services have been told she bought her nephew Max for £30,000.
Coronation Street's Becky McDonald is like a "woman possessed" when she faces losing custody of Max.
The outspoken barmaid - played by Katherine Kelly - is devastated when social services discover she and husband Steve (Simon Gregson) paid her scheming sister Kylie Turner (Paula Lane) £30,000 for the youngster, and convinced love rival Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) is responsible for exposing her secret, the bolshie blonde lashes out in a spectacular showdown.
Katherine told the Daily Star newspaper: "She sees red. She grabs a mallet and storms round to the Barlows' house like a woman possessed and starts breaking the door down.
"Once she gets into the house, she starts to swing the mallet around, breaking ornaments and furniture as she tries to get to Tracy.
"Tracy and the Barlows are terrified and Steve is desperately trying to talk some sense into her but she is beyond listening at this point."
The dramatic showdown marks the beginning of the end of Becky and Steve's marriage.
Becky embarks on a downward spiral when Max is taken into care, and cheats on her husband during a drunken night out.
Steve then files for divorce from his troublesome wife, paving the way for Katherine's exit from the show later this year.
