Gary Barlow is the ''perfect choice'' to replace Simon Cowell on 'The X Factor',according to former contestants JLS.

JLS have backed Gary Barlow as the "perfect choice" to take over from Simon Cowell on 'The X Factor'.

The boyband - who shot to fame after coming second in the ITV1 talent show in 2008 - think the Take That singer is the only person with enough experience to fill the music mogul's place on the judging panel.

Aston Merrygold told the Daily Record newspaper: "I don't think there is a person in the music industry right now that could probably give more advice to people going through a show that intense.

"I just think it's a great thing for the show as well, it's just going to get bigger and bigger, as it does every year anyway.

"But I think Gary is definitely going to bring a new flavour and life to 'The X Factor' this year."

Gary will join the only remaining original judge Louis Walsh on the panel after Simon and Cheryl Cole quit for US 'X Factor' - which Cheryl has reportedly since been axed from - while Dannii Minogue left after a schedule clash with her role on 'Australia's Got Talent'.

Simon is set to announce two new judges next week with N-Dubz star Tulisa Contostavlos and Destiny's Child singer Kelly Rowland tipped for the vacant positions.
