Natalie Cassidy's fiance arrested
Natalie Cassidy's fiance Adam Cottrell has been arrested and charged for beating and criminal damage after allegedly attacking the former 'EastEnders' star during a row.
Natalie Cassidy's fiance has been arrested after attacking the star on Sunday night (22.05.11).
Adam Cottrell was retained in police custody after he allegedly beat the former 'EastEnders' actress and smashed up furniture in their Hertfordshire home during a row.
The transport manager was charged with two offences of beating and two more of criminal damage after Natalie - who gave birth to the couple's daughter Eliza in September - called police to the scene.
A source close to the actress told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Natalie is absolutely devastated by events. She and Adam had a huge argument and it spiralled massively out of control, ending with Adam losing his temper like never before. It turned physical.
"Adam left the house immediately after, and Natalie calmly called the police. Her main concern is the welfare of her daughter and, for now, she just wants to keep a low profile and get on with her life until this has all been resolved.
"She doesn't know what the future holds for herself and Adam."
Police have confirmed 31-year-old Adam's arrest and charges and explained he is due to appear in court later this month.
A police spokesperson said: "We were called on Sunday around 5.30pm. Adam Cottrell has been charged with two counts of assault by beating and two counts of criminal damage.
"He will appear at East Hertfordshire Magistrates Court on May 31."
