Alex Carter quits Hollyoaks
'Hollyoaks' actors Alex Carter, Dean Aspen and Ashley Margolis are all set to leave the show in the coming months.
'Hollyoaks' is set to say goodbye to three male cast members.
Alex Carter, who plays Lee Hunter, Dean Aspen (Duncan Button) and Ashley Margolis (Ricky Campbell) are quitting the Channel 4 soap in the coming months to broaden their acting horizons.
Alex - who has been back in the Chester-based programme for nearly a year after leaving to star in 'Emmerdale' - revealed he will be "gutted" to depart the show, but said it was about time he explored his options.
He said: "After 10 years in soap, it feels like the right time to find out what else is out there.
"I'm so grateful to 'Hollyoaks' for giving me my first break and I'll be gutted to leave behind some really good friends that I've made in the cast and crew, but I'm sure I'll keep in touch with the ones I like!"
Ashley - whose character Ricky is good friends with Duncan - admitted he felt it was a good time to leave the show, especially with Dean also quitting for pastures new.
He added: "I'm not sure if I'm crazy or brave but yes, I think it's time for me as an actor to move on. I could very happily stay forever in my comfort zone - 'Hollyoaks' is a great place to work. But with Dean moving on it just feels like the right time."
